Awesome video of a great person whose (hers) and her familymusic has contributed so much to country music. From the original Carter family to the Second Generation-Helen,June,Anita and Mother Maybelle (even though Maybelle was part of the original group). IMHO no group can matched Mother Maybelle and the Carter Sisters. This was recorded there at Maces Spring, VA., that's where it all started..that's why she wanted to record this event there. The Carter Sisters and Maybelle Carter need to be inducted in the CMHOF. What group has given over 60's yrs of their lives to country music. Helen and Anita was by June's side 60's yrs performing before they died. June died 4 yrs after Anita and recorded 2 more CD's before it was over--so she gave 64 yrs to country music.. I believe both of her last CD's won Grammy's.

I have had the great privilege of seeing them live several times beginning in 1967 I believe it was. At any rate, Luther was there. June had a great comedy routine.

Someone had asked "why is there a woman manually fanning off June?" The only possible reason I can think of is that they are in a live recording session, and the whirl of an electric fan would have been picked up by the sensitive microphones. So, I'm sure the lady kindly volunteered to fan of June, while she sang. I'm a recording artist, so I know about the sensitive mics. One can't even tap their foot, the mics will pick that up...lol.

I love this behind-the-scenes video. And, I expect that the "lady with the fan" is there because the noise of an electric fan would interfere with the recording. June was not in the best of health either at this time. Love to John and June. RIP
