i dont get steve morse..on purple ballads me makes great solos (and it wouldn't be too much saying that they're better than the studio version)...but in songs like smoke on the water, perfect strangers he ruins the song with false harmonics, artificial guitar tone and stupid solos

A great song, great solo by Morse, but Gillan's vocal is overwrought, age has caught up with him on this song (and "Child in Time") which is a shame.Compare thisvocal to the original - no contest.
