I'm not a drummer, but somehow I adore watching people playing drums

good work man classic track with beautifully laid drums by the eclectic Mike Joyce if more of us backyard drummers could play simply and to the song with great pocket and emotional feeling accenting the hardcore message of Morriseys teenage pinings and longing for love and byron bewilderment at life...then id be a happy camper. thanks for showinf that this is a tough tune to drum to.

dont care

Along that argument then you cant make a case for Keith Moon. The Who are where they are musically because of Daltry and Townsend. When it comes to music your "Worth" is judged more by the music you play and the band your in than by talent alone. Even the Smiths. Everyone talks about the 80's/90's guitarists and its Eddie Van Halen, Slash and Angus Young but I would take Johnny Marr over all of them. But because The Smiths were considered more "Underground/Alternative" Marr isn't considered.

Haha, I didn't say he wasn't a good drummer! Yeah, I totally agree about The Smiths being far more popular and influential than Dream Theater. But I think that's more down to Morrissey's song writing and Marr's guitar work than anything else. Sure, Joyce puts a great amount of heart and soul into his playing, but unfortunately I don't think he'll be remembered as one of the all time greatest drummers, despite being in one of the all time greatest bands, in my opinion!

dont care

Why not? Theirs always some "Music" asshole or "Drum Douche" going on about Neil Peart or Portnoy and how no one is worthy enough to be a good drummer. "He was great at what he did, but" But what? You mean be a member of one the most influential groups of the last 30 years? The Smiths are far and away more popular and more influential than Dream Theater. Being technical means shit if you dont put some soul or heart into it. I'll take Joyce and the Smiths over Progressive metal any day.

Great start, this is quite a difficult number to play and I think you do a cracking job. 2 slight wobbles but you can certainly bang a tune!!!

@NotMyBroder He was great at what he did, but I wouldn't put him up there with the legends like Moon, Portnoy, Peart etc.
