FREEDOM pieseň WHAM!, ktorá bola v UK rebríčku 14 týždňov od 13. oktobra 1984 a ako druhý singel Wham! za sebou obsadil vrchol rebríčka v UK. Dňa 20. oktobra 1984 nahradil na vrchole ako 539. hit pieseň I Just Called To Say I Love You od Stevie Wondera. Po troch týždňoch ho z vrcholu zosadila pieseň I Feel For You. V rebríčku Billboardu bol týčdeň od 28. septembra 1985 na 3.m. za piesňami Money For Nothing a Cherish.Videoclip bol dodatočne vytvorený zo záberov z koncertov v Číne, ktoré absolvovali ako prvá skupina zo západu v tejto krajine. Pozoruhodný je fakt, že od ich prvého hitu Wake Me Up Before You Go Go, ktorý bol hitom č.1 dva týždne od 2. júna 1984 sa na vrchole objavili na striedačku s inou piesňou tri hity, ktorých autorom bol George Michael. To druhou bola Careless Whisper tri týždne od 18. augusta 1984 a potom ako tretia Freedom.

It's kind of sad and happy to see the Chinese fans dancing in the crowd.. People should never be oppressed by society so much that they can't let their soul dance and sing.. Governments were and still are terrible in keeping people down..

The god like genius of Andrew Ridgleys bass playing was never appreciated by the masses, he was criminally underated, with his musical talents really only shining through on his one and only 1990 solo album titled 'son of albert' an album that in many ways equalled the beatles sgt peppers album in terms of quality and musical innovation, some say it surpased even them, and they wouldnt be wrong making that statement !! Thumbs up now if you feel Ridgley needs more credit. Give him the credit he deserves. Show him your appreciation if you'd like, by giving this a thumbs up as recognition .
