What I like about Jack here.  He could come up with some melancholy melodies.  It helped that he had a decent backup with Leslie West, Felix Papalardi and Corky Laing.  They could put out some mellow stuff with the hard jams.  Gonna miss him.

If I listen to this song even once, it'll be in my head for weeks. It's absolutely one of his greatest creations in my opinion.

the difference can be heard in comparing what they sounded like on Fresh Cream. Felix made all the difference in the world.

i think "Sifting sand" too was a nice tune.

@depper No argument there. It's impossible to imagine Disraeli Gears without Felix's contribution.

@VIDJACK Few understand just how much of Cream's sound was engineered by Felix. Clapton and others closest to him often tell the story how Felix introduced him to the wahwah pedal, that would shape Clapton's early sound.

@depper I'm positive you've got that totally backwards. Felix's vocals and writing were heavily influenced by Jack. Check out Songs for a Tailor - Felix produced for Jack. You'll find the original version of Theme there. Also - you can check out Jack and Felix singing together on To Isengard. Very pretty.

Always loved this ballad, better than theme for an imaginary western if you ask me.

You can see Jack was heavily influenced by the vocal brilliance of Felix Pappalardi here.

A song that would have been more appropriate on Harmony Row. The only decent song on a basically miserable album. RIP West Bruce& Laing. You guys almost reached something great but blew it. Pollution Woman was brilliant.

This song and "While you sleep" should have won an award.

This song brings back a lot of memories of the days when we were hippies. In DC we hung in Georgetown. In those days we could crash over anyone's house with no problem. We used to hang on the street all day, asking for spare change. Man, those where the times we were free. Live entertainment , was all around, bands were the thing. That got me playing guitar, from those days I got to go on the road and play at places like Richmond Coliseum, clubs like the Last Harrah, Those were the days !.
