From what I read, this album was recorded at the end of the world tour that Sinatra did in 1962. By the time Sinatra went into the recording studio for this album, his vocal chords and voice was strained, and you can hear it on a few songs.I read that Sinatra did not want this album released in the U.S. because he was not satisfied with the project, but in my opinion the strain in Sinatra's voice added to the charm and meloncholy of the songs.I think this is one of his best ballad albums.

"We'll Meet Again" ... words by Hugh Charles, music by Albert R. Parker, 1941. British song, a favorite ballad of WWII, sung by English Singer Vera Lynn. Popularized in the U.S. by Kay Kyser, vocal by Harry Babbitt and Ginny Simms (Columbia); Guy Lombardo, vocal by Carmen Lombardo (Decca); Benny Goodman, vocal by Peggy Lee (Okeh). The English singer, Vera Lynn, revived it in 1954 (London) and you hear that recording at the end of Dr. Strangelove.

@ecardon1 It was mostly ballads if I recall, and had a theme of songs from British song writers. Beautifully done.
