I will always love this band. I was only 12 when the self titled 1968 LP Brooklyn Bridge was released. How could this track not have been a big hit. Well to many us it was and is. The single was a double sided radio hit with "Blessed Is The Rain" Both ranking in the top 50 of 1969. Johnny's voice soars with beauty. The Brooklyn Bridge marches on in music history! I recently stumbled on Johnny Maestro's music , all I can say is I have been hooked! I am a musician from the 70's-80's and sad to say never knowingly heard him before. But now I realize that many of the songs I really have heard before! What a voice mixed with passion and love, truly someone we miss. The Bible holds out a hope for all, clearly Jesus demonstrated that a resurrection from death is possible. We hope to see him and all the band again! Isaiah 26:19

I saw Johnny perform his final concert at Mohegan Sun.....and as sick as he was, he sounded better than ever.......a true artist and person....I will always miss him!!!

From the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame website: "We shall consider factors such as an artist's musical influence on other artists, length and depth of career and the body of work, innovation and superiority in style and technique, but musical excellence shall be the essential qualification of induction." Johnny certainly qualifies on all counts. His name has come up before the nominating committee several times, but he has not received enough votes to make the final ballot. Someday he will.

Johnny Maestro truly had one of the best voices ever. My wife and I saw him too many times to count, and NEVER got tired of hearing him sing. My wife passed in March, now she can hear him sing in heaven.

Johnny Maestro and Jay Black didn't lose one iota of their talent as they got older, and they never disappointed the audience. How many of today's "stars" will be doing as well when / if they reach their golden years?

I was working as a DJ in a bikers bar when a barmaid named Barbara came into my both and said "do you have any Brooklyn Bridge" with you. I just came from a wedding and I did. So I was brave and took a break from the southern rock music that most of the crowd wanted and played the song for her, Welcome Me Love. Well needless to say she made me very happy later. The bikers left! We will always have his music and this was one of his best ever.
