There are a lot of younger artists still playing good country and other roots music. They aren't on the radio, but you can find them if you try. Steve's son Justin Townes Earle, Corb Lund, Llindi Ortega are some names to start with.

Amen to Osprey9mm, I saw Waylon in his last concert in Kansas City Oct 2001. After he passed i got the Flying W or Phoenix tattooed on both arms!!!

I suggest you look a little harder. There are some great younger artists out there. You won't hear them on mainstream radio, but they deserve support. Look up Steve Earle's son Justin Townes Earle... or Rachel Brooke, Wayne Hancock, Elizabeth Cook, JD McPhearson, Chris Knight, Jayke Orvis... etc., etc.

Waylon is the best ever and will never be matched especially by the fucking bullshit country being shat out today. Waylon is a country GOD!

This is country music, not the crap that is played on FM country radio today. It would be great if country radio would play the likes of Willie, Waylon, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, Steve Earle, Merle Haggard, Townes Van Zandt, Hank Williams Sr. I don't like modern country, but those 8 performers I mentioned are amazing.
