I did a few shows with Waylon back in DJ days. One of my biggest thrills ever was when Waylon came up to me and asked if there was a coffee shop near the theatre. I pointed one out about a block away, so he said "C'mon, let's go". As we were leaving, one of the other performers asked where we were going and when we told him he asked to come along. So it was that I spent about 45 minutes in a coffee shop with Waylon and Tex Ritter. I didn't say a word, just listened to all their stories.
