Springsteen co wrote it with Warren. When Springsteen does it he uses "Janie". Springsteen tends to use the same female names as most songwriters do. Because women are such an inspiration to a songwriter. Springsteen uses "Janie". 'Mary" and Wendy a good deal. I love this version. It is on Warrens live album, "stand in the fire" which is one of my favorite live albums. "The sin" is a highlight.

Love Warren..:) Truth, so "real" & expected 4 many. Or had no clue what he meant. Easy to do. lol Warren knew the "deal". ; ) Other & lesser artists, at times cut his songs. Huge hits. Not all knew W.Z.& problems. Irony, cynicism, cryptic humor, Genius + music & Cool as Hell. W.Z.. IS THE MAN! Issues, yes.. ( 1st to tell u ). The Grim Reaper was never far away.. As a writer & composer judged on talent & content, W.Z. against, no, Not going there.. I take W..Z. . ; ) And J.Walsh!. ;)
