Personally, I just identify metalcore by the guitar riffs. They always seem to have a certain type of rhythm and lean towards more upbeat melodies.

I would say this is either Deathcore or metalcore? regardless, They are basically the same... Although I always find it quite easy to tell if something is metalcore, and yet I have no idea why. Maybe it's the attitude?
