Seeing that this was not on youtube and there is little of Wah! I thought I'd put it up for everyone to hear. Pete Wylie and Washington at their best. One of John Peel's favourite people and bands. What a voice! To my mind and especially at this stage and the early singles, they were far better than both The Teardrop Explodes and Echo and the Bunnymen.

This is the closing track on the great LP Nah=poo-The Art Of Bluff on Eternal records. If you like The Chameleons and Echo and Bunnymen then you should like this album. Fittingly the catalogue number of the LP was Classic 1 and it sure is.

NB. Some of the tags I've selected are there to bring it to the attention of people who might not have searched or known about Wah! otherwise.

I first heard this single in 1981 and it sent chills down my spine. Had the same reaction when I played it again just now... It's one of those anthemic rock masterpieces that stand the test of time. 1980 - 81 was a great era for amazing innovative post punk: Joy Division/New Order, Talking Heads 'Fear of Music' & 'Remain in Light', Echo & Bunnymen, Teardrop Explodes, Pil's 'Metal Box', Dexy's 'Searching for the Young Soul Rebels', Josef K, Ultravox's sublime 'Vienna', Marianne Faithful's 'Broken English', Human League's excellent 'Reproduction' & 'Dare', Heaven 17's 'Penthouse and Pavement', King Crimson's 'Discipline', Byrne & Eno's 'My Life in the Bush of Ghosts', ABC's classic 'The Lexicon of Love', several great Simple Minds albums and great stuff by Blondie, Magazine, the Clash and the list goes on. They don't make music like this anymore!!11

Thanks for this, first time I have heard it for a few years. Have it on vinyl, but haven't had a turntable for a while. One of the first records I will play when I re-invest in one. After the 1st 2 Bunnymen Lps and Closer by Joy Division. This is not quite at that level, but great all the same, given that they were the greatest. This is George Foreman to their Cassius Clay.

But then you have to "reduce" the quality from 360p to 240p ! Unbelievable...

If you don't use the attachment provided by "inshreds66" (ending in &fmt=18) then the sound only comes out of one speaker/headphone ! YouTube strikes again...
