The first time I saw this album in the shelves, I nearly shat my pants! New Voivod? After they broke up? HOLY SHIT! Not their best effort, to be sure, but it sure as hell has stood up over the years since!

Am I the only one who thought Negatron was one of their nest albums? This along with Phobos was crapped on buy fans of older stuff. Maybe it was the singer change. I think it's their most consistent, heaviest and riff-based album. The thrash stuff was good, the prog stuff was even better, but this album is their magnum opus in my opinion. Nanoman is one of my favorite songs ever.

@corybiro:I totally agree with you about death core & the 7-string guitar fad that is going on right now in music. I've even seen some kids playing 8-string guitars & thinking their all cool but playing one note riffs & using only 4-strings which is fine but don't be using a 7 or 8-string when you have no idea how to even use it. Guitarist's like Dino from Fear Factory use a 7-string but Dino knows how to play it & uses all 7 strings,then Rusty Cooley who is a madman on 7 & 8-string guitars! If

VOVIOD is a strong band -- this is more potent from them. Some of the things with voivod is an acquired taste. You almost have to read Sci-Fi and write the genre to get their lyrics. They've got the imagination.
