Simply heavenly voice that brings us back to good memories. Vic Damone is one of the best. I hope he still holds concerts like Tony Bennett.

Well, I wouldn't go that far. He is one of the best at what he does best, and that is "Love Songs"

I have always loved this song since I was a little girl, when I saw that movie, impressed with Lauren and Rob who became the great Robert Stack of TV's Untouchables...Vic Damone was and is still my favorite singer, so powerful a voice!

@DanceDJ1979 Thank you for responding. It's so awesome and exciting, actually that someone "out there" communicates--yet on the same wavelength... The wonder of computers! Check out "Bird of Paradise" with Louie Jourdan and Debra Paget. ANOTHER WOW!!! unforgettable.... 1951 was the movie, the year that I was born. oops....take care

@zimjun7 I remember I was 10 years old when I saw this at a Saturday afternoon matinee at the theater in my home town. I was by myself and can remember being so sad too, thinking that love would be an undying thing when I grew up. It has stayed in my memory all my life. The movie is unavailable anywhere but was on Turner Classic Movies of the Fox Movie Channel last summer, so hopefully it will be released again. Thanks for sharing your story about it.

@DanceDJ1979 I don't know HOW I came across this, BUT, I too remember this movie. I saw it on television. I was about 11, I think in 1962. I never forgot it. Lorne Greene had to practically "jack" Robert Stack off the ground by the graveside with a 5 day beard growing. That's how I always felt love would be like. Undying. I was in a sad daze for days!! So sad.....

@DanceDJ1979 Vic Damone's "Separate Tables" (from the movie of the same name) is also one of my all-time favorites.

I saw the movie as a elementary, but I remember it well precisely because of the of Vic Damone's song, which I still can memorize up to now! Really a great singer! I agree, no one can sing better! A powerful voice that is incomparable! and Lauren Becall acted sowell in this very dramatic story!

I saw the movie "The Gift of Love" in 1958 when I was 10 years old. This song has stuck in my mind ever since I saw it. It was such a sad movie. I will be posting Vic Damone's song from the movie "It's Never Too Late," yet another wonderful love song from this man who had such a beautiful voice. Thanks for posting!

@stephenbiboy Vic had a very romantic voice just made for this type of song. But he was not very versatile. Vic and Frankie Laine came up at the same time at Mercury Records. Vic was given the Romantic Ballads and Frankie did everything else plus his share of love songs.
