So extremely happy to see a live performance with Vennart, Durose and Gambler playing together and still sounding as phenomenal as ever (never got to see them live as Oceansize, but watched Feed to Feed about nine million times)

The sound of Vennart is really interesting. Instead of comparing his solo project with Oceansize, I'd say the best thing about this new album is finding out which parts of Oceansize's repertoire Mike was responsible for. Listening to the album (got it in the mail two days ago!) I listen to several songs and think something along the lines of "This reminds me of 'A Penny's Weight', so I guess Mike was the mastermind behind that song back in the Oceansize era"... Figuring this stuff out is so much more enlightening than just comparing the old band and the new project. :D
