Lee Kerslake was an excellent drummer.

I'll comment on the drumming. Ian Clark was the drummer on the original. Kerslake was a thundering drummer who sometimes gave out the feeling he was punishing his kit for talking back to him. His style came across as sometimes slow and plodding, but if you watched him, he was extremely adept at the heep style of music. Gilbrook in my opinion has an amazing style but a little softer on the kit.

pas mal, mais l'originale ( le solo guitarre) est meilleure !

They had great drummers. The problem is that in 70'ties drums were badly recorded! With one exeption - Led Zepp. This version is also good, but still it's an updated remake - and still great song (composition)! Enjoy!

@nazzare79 I love both drummers. Lee was part of a lot of great material, not the least of which being the first two Ozzy solo albums. Russell can play a wider range of styles than Lee could, but Lee had a more distinctive style. I like the fact that Russell gives some of these songs a kick in the ass! The songs sound less dated and cross eras stylistically that way. They just stand up as great songs. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the originals, but Celebration is a fantastic album.

@VistaRecordsBoard yes, that's true, but my consideration is about Lee drumming vs Gilbrook in general...I don't like Russel drumming...despite his cymbals (which are a Paiste mid range category) his style is too heavy and less peculiar/refined than the Lee one...

@nazzare79 Lee Kerslake wasn't in the band when they recorded the original version of this song. The drumming on that one was played by Ian Clark. FYI... And I think both versions are great!

Lee drumming was far more complicated, refined and inventive...
