It's about what's wrong in America ("sad eyes, crooked crosses","sleep comes like a drug" ) The repeated mentions at the statue of liberty as the hope of the poor, the refugees, the displaced for war, the immigrants (legal or not) that see America as a land of salvation. "I stand with the sons of Cain burnt by the fire of love". Never it has been more relevant than now.
