eh, not quite. the whole point of indie (not as a genre per-say, but a way of getting things done ie: independent.) had nothing to do with the sound a band is going for, its just getting out there and doing it; finding a way to get your music recorded and putting together tours, pretty much diy. of course the masses caught on eventually so now an "indie" band is able to get support in all those areas. but its not about the genre or sound of the band, its the mindset and way of going about things
