This song eats and feeds my soul at the same time. This song touches me on so many levels, ... some superficial and mundane ... some deep and philosophical and emotional ... This song is 1983 to me to a T.

Listened to it when i was 15. Now, 35 years later it's still sounds magnificent! Timeless!

I agree.

Just beautiful. For me - one of the finest and most evocative tunes from the early 80's.

I first heard this when I was 15 and it is still stunning over thirty years later. One of my favorite EABT tracks. Great drums from a drummer who died way too young.

Maybe I'm wrong, I hope I'm wrong, but I feel like alot of this great music is being forgotten.

Lately I bought a "platine" to play vinyls so I asked my dad if I could borrow his vinyls (he has hundreds and was born in 61). He told me this album was great so I tried it and fell in love with Echo & The Bunnymen and now I'm always playing their vinyls in my room. This song is just awesome. That's sad we don't get to listen to this kind of music nowadays (I'm 22).

Sean – you are right on the money! I hated the saccharine sound of so many 80s bands when I was in high school. It WAS Syd and the Floyd for me. Even U2 sounded too cute for me then (I since fell in love with th'Edge's guitar playing but Bono is usually too much of a muchness for me). But this Bunnymen album was something else – edgy, dour, minimal yet atmospheric and competently and musically played. Heaven Up Here ws probably the B-men at their best.
