(SPOILERS!!!) People say the ending's sad, but I feel like it's both depending on how you look at it. It's sad because they didn't end up together in the end, but it's happy because in the end they were able to achieve their dreams and they both smiled at each other at the end. I feel like that's probably the morale of the story. Ultimately it's to follow your dreams and they will one day come true. In this movie they show how you might need a push from someone else who cares about you, and I think that this movie was a great way of telling the story. :)

I just finished watching the movie for the first time(I know I'm a little behind) . I thoroughly enjoyed it , the real star was of course the great music with those catchy lyrics . Emma and Ryan are always superb , I sure would like to see more movies written along these lines without a hint of violence , a breath of fresh air in today's world

I don't understand why people would hate the ending. It is supposed to break the cliche-ness of how people will always love each other and eventually get back together. So, no, I wouldn't want a sequel. The ending was meaningful because they realize what kind of life they would've had were they to have stayed together, but the start of the movie explained how much they pursued their dreams/careers. Yes, agreed, it was sad, and I wish they would've been together, but that's what made the decision between career and relationship so hard. The reason I like the song 'someone in the crowd' is because really, Mia and Sebastian were merely people in the crowd for each other. And they would always remember a face in the crowd, but really it's what they seek beyond it.I loved the motifs. So yes, people in your life effect it in different ways, but sometimes the choices can effect it as much.I liked the ending, and you can disagree with me, but consider how fairy-like and cliche and non-didactic a sequel would be.
