Surprised there are not more comments about this song, one of their best, and the last proper hit single from 1991. They had an unerring knack for melody and delivered tight performances on all their recordings. I have written it elsewhere on youtube but they were so underrated, and unfairly pigeonholed by 'China in Your Hand'. China is a great song but it eclipses everything else they did apart from perhaps 'Heart and Soul'. It's such a shame that the eighties bandwagon overlooks so much of the creativity of the period and panders to a narrow view of what the eighties was , both in terms of the roster on retro tours and radio stations. Perhaps one day the era will be celebrated more broadly in all its glory as so many songs like this are forgotten by those that loved them and may have even bought them at the time, but such is life!T'pau wrote clever lyrics a cut above the usual clichés and made some really good videos directed by Brian Grant. There is a Sky programme about the making of the videos featuring interviews with Carol Decker and Brian Grant. 'The Story Behind the Tracks' DVD is also worth a watch for fans of the band, as Carol revisits the early days when they started out. It contains early demo tracks too. But then if you're a fan, you probably know about it anyway! I am looking forward to seeing them in the autumn of 2014 in Liverpool, and am forever grateful for the enjoyment their music has provided over nearly thirty years.

Don't you believe it, they're doing the rounds gigging at the moment, celebratring 25 years since Bridge Of Spies , saw them in Milton Keynes this week and they were awesome ! ( though shame "whenever.." did not make the setlist this time around ........

A unique band unique singer no one sounds even close to T'pau and no one ever will, as boingsomeness says lyrical perfection pours out of this group shame there not around anymore :0(

This is a really strong single from the band but I don't remember it doing much in the charts.

Wished I knew this band sooner. I only learned about them after listening to a song played on last.fm free radio (recommended channel). Really loved their music. I guess Last.fm is pretty accurate in guessing what I'd love.

China In Your Hand, Heart & Soul & Valentine probably more popoular and certainly more successful - but I think this is their best.... The only one I still listen to regularly.
