Jenny Ledge is said to be Sheryl Crow, Gilbert's girlfriend at the time. Steely Dan fans looking for similar material should check out China Crisis, specifically Walter Becker produced Flaunt the Imperfection.

Is there really a Jenny Ledge? A sad song especially the line "my eyes have learned to cry instead". It's not jazz-rock but still I hear a definite Steely Dan influence.

There was kind of a 2nd album with Patrick Leonard and Richard Page (from Mister Mister) under the name of "Third Matinee". Some really good songs, playing and production, but without the benefit of Kevin Gilbert's writing, singing and playing. However, I would tell you to listen to Kevin's solo work, particularly "Thud" to hear what he had next. I believe this might have been his last album.

This is definitely one cd I'm happy to have in my collection. I wish they could have made a second. This is really well written and produced and recorded music. Props to all involved. Did I mention mixed as well!!! thankx

Very poetic. It can't help but cross my mind that the sorrow of the song is that the younger man is mourning the toll years of life shall take on him, too.

I agree, I grew up on this, but nobody told me he was gone, until I was 11, and he had been dead for years.
