Lyrically, Townes had a way that thumbed his nose, threw the finger and laughed in the face of conventional hit makers. You hear it in all of his songs but this is a really good example of it. Deep AND wide.

I think the biggest difference between TVZ and Dylan is that TVZ actually lived the true wandering Troubadour lifestyle..broke ...giving away all his money... truly just concerned about songwriting and Dylan was more of a celebrity... and entity with millions of dollars behind him... marketing teams etc.... Townes was never interested in that. He turned down every opportunity he had for anything like that to happen....
