"The Art of Excellence" is an album by Tony Bennett, released in 1986. It was his first album upon re-signing with Columbia Records, and began his career comeback!

"How do you keep the music playing" is the most difficult song to singing, either tecnically as to making it come from the inside of the heart. Bennett did it!

Here, in this record, we can see, literally the maximum art of Bennett's gift. Bennett and another singers did record this song uncounted times before . In my view we have here in this record from 1986 the ultimate performance about this Legrand's song.

Please, excuse my poor English!

The greatest song by the greatest singer. May he sing forever.

This is no doubt today the definitive version, but first knew this as a big A/C and R&B (not quite top 40) hit for James Ingram & Patti Austin. Fine song.

I saw Tony Bennett sing this st the Royal Albert Hall in concert with Lady Gaga. It brought the house down and still sends shivers up my spine.

I was lucky enough to buy that album - which disappeared soon after - and fell in love with Tony Bennett all over again.  Thanks for posting it.

I middle-named my son Jonah after Tony Bennett--Jonah Bennett Kachur, almost on the strength of this song. But check out his version of "I Do Not Know a Day I Did Not Love You."

Mister Tony Aiello, You said: "the best rendition of this song". How could I disagree? Mis besos

Why compare? They both knew how to put a song across. Listen to Frank sing "I'm a Fool To Want You". Or listen to the whole album 'In The Wee Small Hours Of the Morning" and then compare. Tony would be the first to say Frank was the best and Frank once said Tony was the best. So forget the comparing and just thank God they both came along.

This is the best rendition of this song I have ever heard. Better than Francis Alberts rendition.... And Sinatra is my all time favorite. Tony just gets better with age.
