I don't think I ever heard this. You always hear "America Pie", but not often is this song played. Thanks for posting!

Thinking of Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper and also Ritchie Valens as this song is dedicated to them who died on Tuesday February 3rd 1959 god rest you all

I was quite moved by this in 1960 when I was twelve, but even then I knew it was sentimental slop that would quickly disappear into cut-out limbo. Delightful to hear it again and wallow in nostalgia.

Tommy Dee is the actual composer but Eddie Cochran's version is MUCH MORE SOULFUL. You can actually hear him sobbing.

Wish I could find the Eddie Cochran version. I live in Beaumont so I visited the Big Boppers gravesite on feb 3 this year. It's a very humble marker with a historical marker behind it. I left one yellow rose there on his grave and two other roses. May they forever rest in peace. JP Richardson, Buddy Holley, and Richie Valens

I've been to the crash site in Clear Lake, Iowa several times. a little marker there where fans have left mementos over the years. if you were a fan and have a chance to visit there, it's worth the trip.

Oh not to mention Eddie Cochran wrote this song

This version is soul-less. Eddie Cochrans is the only version worth listening to.
