Found this song through Deatbeat summer, by one off my favorite artists Neon Indian, to discover that it was basically this song, by one of my other favorite artists, Todd Rundgren finds me in mysterious ways...

Is it me or does it sound like there are two songs playing at once in moments during this song? A dodgy old record player or a terrible drummer?

It is cut short. The song is great but it has more meaning when it goes on into Heavy Metal Kids. The real meaning is lost when id doesn't

"Todd" was my very first Rundgren album. I bought it when I was 17 or so, in 1993. I've been a TR fan ever since. It's a shame that his latest album blows, but honestly, it's been downhill since 2nd Wind, with only a few great tunes thereafter.

Funny story about this song, Todd originally recorded this song for the Something/Anything? LP. He couldn't get anywhere with it so he shelved it, Bearsville heard it and wanted to release it as a single but Todd threatened to junk the next album if it was released so they released "Hello, It's me" instead. Good moth on Todd and Bearsville's part!
