Thy Art Is Murder - The Purest Strain Of Hate lyrics

Repressed

The darkness burns

A fallen figure left to desecrate

Exiled

Absolved of the light I am the purest strain of hate

Carved skin

Engraved with endless sorrow

Degenerated, tortured soul

Unconsecrated

Filth discarded

Despiser of all things above and below

Relentless chaos

Endless suffering

Broken bodies

Seen as the deceased

Unholy savior

Wretched conspiracies

In the tyrant's hands

Slaves you shall be

Spineless followers

Walk among the damned

Despair thrives

In their depravity

Cast out

An endless retribution claims

The lives of those who chose to create

A vile beast born of animosity

In the depths they remain

All shall be erased

In the tyrant's hands

Slaves you shall be

Repressed

The darkness burns

A fallen figure left to desecrate

Exiled

Absolved of the light I am the purest strain of hate.

Today was Superbowl Sunday, but contrary to popular belief football isn't really the highlight of the occasion. You see advertisers spend big money to market their products on Superbowl Sunday, millions of dollars for the time slots to peddle their wares to intoxicated and euphoric football fans. What teams were even playing today? I can't even remember. I am not a football fan, but I do like watching Superbowl commercials. I like seeing what clever ways advertisers come up with to harness the golden rule of advertising: desire. I like watching how their highly polished commercial productions manipulate and inflame peoples' passions and desires. Anything from clever humor, to intense CGI, to what I like to call "WTF's" that mind-job you but become memorable for that exact reason. I enjoy that aspect of the Superbowl. I couldn't tell you who won the game even though I watched it; it's just not all that interesting to me. I've always felt a little awkward about that throughout my life as a male; call it societal conditioning, where I felt a little less manly because my dick doesn't get hard during basketball playoffs, or the Superbowl, or whatever else. I'm not big into sports---not even a little bit. I can't even pretend I'm into it that's how much I'm not into it.For me the whole idea of the sports industry is perplexing; you see, the big sports team owners basically bid on the players they want on their team, and the highest bidders usually get the best players. The really good players can decide who they want to play for but most of them follow the money. To me there's no loyalty in that, the team uniform means nothing. You're simply a business savy athlete---and so team spirit only means as much as the money you're getting paid to have that team spirit. There's no real connection to the fans, or the state, or the legacy of the team. Maybe in some cases, but I think today, even more so, not so much. Everything is about money. This Superbowl, before the game started, I watched some of the athletes on the field as the camera panned wide-angle across their faces as the national anthem was sung---I can't even remember who sung it, but she wasn't half bad; the players, a lot of them, looked so disconnected from the whole meaningless ritual, the whole reverence for God and country and all that bullshit. I think a lot of them know it's all bullshit, why would God care who wins the game; there's more pressing matters to attend to. However, it's part of the ritual and so it's tradition and thus somewhat mechanical---not that tradition isn't good, but in this case, since I'm not a big football fan, it's not good.I know I sound like a hater, maybe I am in this case; you know what, let me come out of the closet with this: I hate the sports industry as it is now, which means I hate professional football, basketball, baseball, etc. There I said it, it's out of the closet now.  I think for the most part the sports industry functions as distraction to quell the masses, and channel their passion/dissatisfaction and the need for symbols they can believe in, and rally behind. It's natural for humans to want to do that, to be clannish and supportive of a symbolic extension of their own egos. It becomes dangerous when this is manipulated for ulterior motives, whether that be pacification, consumerism, hedonism, etc. The roaring masses of people cheering for their home teams, teams who are owned by plutocrats or very wealthy people in a lot of cases, the one percent (or close to it). These are people with shit loads of money and they make even more money off revenue generated from the sports industry. So while almost two-thirds of America are close to or in poverty, the masses are shouting and cheering for teams owned by a lot of the same people fucking them in the ass---in a manner of speaking, in terms disgusting wealth inequality and poor wealth distribution in our current economic system. It's a bitter irony. So no, I don't enjoy football or sports in general, but I do like the commercials, and the fact that I'm also able to indulge in hateful cynicism and ridicule. You need to every now and then---in moderation.
