Well, I love 4AD, so I won't agree with all of your comment. But "Desolation with a slice of hope," is a great description of TM/KH music. I'll have to steal that one.

@Violetsmilexo I bought it on the strength of a glowing Melody Maker review. You had to gamble with your money then. This one paid off big style :)

Probably one of the starkest debut albums ever. Desolation with a slice of hope. 4AD in retrospect in total can be questioned but they did still release and encourage some amazing music to be made.
