Songwriter, vocalist and guitarist Chris Bell formed Big Star in Memphis TN, with Box Tops vocalist Alex Chilton, fellow drummer Jody Stephens and bassist Andy Hummel to put out a self titled album that still holds its ground as one of the best rock and roll albums to date. This came out as a solo recording after his death in the 70`s.
