Audio of Thin Lizzy performing "Dear Miss Lonely Hearts" at Dublin, Ireland on 6/7/1980. As only Lynott would, he gives a shout out to Bob Geldof mid-song.

And YES, this is Thin Lizzy. I know this song was originally on Lynott's first solo album, but Lizzy played it extensively during the Chinatown Tour, being all the members played on it anyway.

@Jethrofinger I'm with you on the Lynott influence. Learning his songs especially the 1st three LPs taught me so much about melodic structures. Then his latter style of being rock solid, not in so much of a supportive role but displaying the bass as a commanding rhythmatic force. A great influence indeed! Now Entwistle...he taught me how to be a melodic monster...two completly different animals all together.

I remember this Dublin concert broadcast in Chicago. It was the Chinatown tour and I believe it was shared with the Dire Straits. Although it was a Gorham/White guitar combo I remember it being quite good! It included Chinatown & Got To Give It Up along with this tune which sounds great live. Scot Gorham is awesome..the melodic shredder!

@supersonicextreme750 I hear you. I was born in 1991 and today's music is shit. Greatest band ever? Personally, I think that belongs to the Beatles but Thin Lizzy are one of my all time favorite bands. They make the top 12, probably would've been in the top 10 if I had gotten into them earlier. Still, I hold Lizzy near and dear to my heart. Hell, I got all of their studio albums and the two live albums. As a bassist, I look up to Phil. He, Entwistle, and Roger Waters= bass gods!
