A 1963 R&B hit with a strong gospel flavour. There was a nice, if pretty straight, cover version by Pearlean Gray and the Passengers released a few years later.

I was around back then getting ready for kindergarten. Never played songs like this on the top 40 radio stations because top 40 radio had bad taste in real talent and real music

The love of your man or woman can keep you safe from all harm. Question is: If It's Truly Love!!!

So, so, many black talented singers and musicians during that time. Sadly, most were taken for a ride by their "so called managers" a few made it through and hit the limelight deservedly so. The British embraced black music and the Beatles & Rolling Stones made remakes of their songs and you know how rich they became. I feel sorry for the likes of Jackie Wilson, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding. Jackie died penniless, no headstone, until MJ bought one for him. Sam was murdered, Otis, I believe a plane crash but a astute businessman. Those record promoters, charlatans is what I call them made millions off these people.
