FAQ, DOUBLE BASS SCORE: After many people asked me for a copy, I was trying since spring 2011 to get the permission from the copyright owner (Hal Leonard Corporation) to release solo double bass part myself. Six or seven times officially requested- and never got any answer. No phone #, no e-mail, no names of who is working on it: just online application form. According to the copyright lows, without copyright owner's permission there is nothing I can do before obtaining the permission: neither I can sell nor give for free this score. Please don't waste your time to write me if your message contains this request- I will just not send this score to anybody, my hands are bound. Write to Hal Leonard Corporation yourself and complain, maybe it helps. My last request was in spring 2012.
If I obtain the permission, the information will instantly be announced here, instead of this text.
Meanwhile, my advice for double bass players is to use the official publication of "Three pieces from Schindler's List soundtrack" (for violin and piano), it was also my source: ISBN 0-7935-3584-0
This performance was played on "high C" tuning: c-G-D-A1 so the instrument is tuned in perfect fourths, transposing in F. That is recommended tuning for this piece IMO.
Lower tunings will result in the lack of tone clearity and octaves inverting in the melody so the original melody's compass like in this video would stay out of reach.
