Jimmy just pulls away from the rest of the band in the solo...they just couldn't keep up...one year later, enter Bonham, Jones, and Plant...and then this song sounds right...

Así que esos eran los Yardbirds? es la primera vez que los escucho y veo; me parece que su música y sus interpretaciones eran muy light.

Great performance. Must be lots of young people commenting. For historical purposes, When the Yardbirds broke up, Jimmy Page went on to form " The New Yardbirds", legend has it that Keith Moon heard them play somewhere, with Robert Plant's crescendo of a voice, and apparently said...You guys will go down like a Lead Balloon.. a common saying from the old daze, not used much now. Ans so Led Zeppelin was born. Interesting to read in Ronnie Wood's self written bio, that Robert Plant, pre super-stardom, apparently was enamoured with Steve Marriott to the point of obsession, and went to all the Small Faces gigs...a real fanboy so the story goes. Sort of gives an idea to the eventual "Style" of Robert Plants singing.....like Steve Marriott. But the Yardbirds were a mighty group and an influence on Future Brit Pop....Up there with The Beatles, and all the other great British music of the 60s/70s.....We still luv em....their music will live forever...and well considering this is a Jim McCarty channel...thanks for all the music Jim et al.

No amps, so maybe they were lip synching, although Jimmy Page is has a chord plugged in to something.

For a moment lets forget the difference in the style of the 2 singers who sang this song.Yes, of course, its Plant's justifiable intro to rock stardom.Whats truly interesting and impressive, in hindsight, is that Page already had the different sections of the song worked out before LZ. He'd already created a rock anthem. Long before Plant entered the studio. His solo here shows exactly where he was intending to go in the future as guitarist.Page began, with this song in particular, a truly masterful dominance in the studio as a song writer and producer. He knew exactly where he wanted to go with his next band. And luckily he was smart enough to recognize that he had found the other 3 musicians that ultimately became the best rock band ever.

The Artful Dodger

Keith Relf is a bloody horrible vocalist. Christ, he's about as exciting as LISTENING to paint dry. Eventually, he did become an electric performer, though it was in his basement with an improperly grounded guitar in his hands. RIP.
