Sorry, chap... Townshend had already done A Quick One two years prior to the PT's forgettably mediocre Sorrow record. The only thing related to Tommy that was "overrated tripe" was the Russell film. The record - and the many live performances that followed over the next year or two - were awe inspiring rock'n'roll genius.
