Go ahead someone tell me that Levon Helm's vocals don't belong in the pantheon of legendary rock vocals with Elvis Presley, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, Ray Davies (The Kinks), Mike Smith (Dave Clark 5), Paul McCartney, Roger Daltry, Mick Jagger, Bruce Springsteen, Grace Slick, Elton John, Otis Redding, Levi Stubbs (The Four Tops), and the many other distinguished, original and creative voices that made up the best rock of over 40 years. Some have said after Levon passed away that he wasn't a "legend." Obviously, they don't follow music the way we do. Levon would be legendary for being the vocalist of this enduring song alone. The man was rock's gracious, humble gentleman. Never be another one like him.

I'd say Levon is 10 times better drummer and 100 times better singer than Ringo. Ringo has always been the most boring part of his touring band.
