If they get popular: More money, more people get to enjoy them, and more time on the radio. But, there's a bigger chance of them getting a shittier fanbase and/or becoming douches and the concert tickets would cost more. If they don't get popular: Cozier fanbase, cheaper concerts, bragging rights of liking your own secret band. But, no one knows them and the make less money and have less interviews. It's a win/lose situation either way, so it doesn't really mater
