It's been YEARS since I heard that song & for me - although I'm into somewhat different stuff now - this is emblematic of a particular time in my life. Round about then, an acquaintance said to me 'This is what Syd Barrett would have sounded like if he'd kept it together enough & kept writing/recording' etc. Very (peculiarly) English, charming & unique & - getting a bit rock-n-roll about this - I agree with Wilbur that THAT guitar solo is quite AWESOME. Robyn Hitchcock - with or without the 'Boys - has written some great songs/music over time, part psychedelic/whimsical, part wierdly funny ('All Aboard Brenda's Iron Sledge' anyone ?) - 'Sometimes I wish I was a pretty girl ... so I could look at myself in the shower' - INDEED.13 years назад

This band was SO great, had never a dull moment on record and yet they only got cult status. Something is very seriously wrong with this world. I like most of Hitchcock's stuff afterwards as well, but The Soft Boys will always be fresh strawberries with cream on top. Just brilliant!!Похожие клипы
