I've followed them since the beginning and continue to see them live around here in Jersey...their anniversary concert in Carteret was incredible...they continue to involve their fans, and I'm still shocked that people will mention Springsteen, Bon Jovi yet fail to acknowlege the contributions of this band, whose music i think holds up far better throughout time. Springsteen can be so political and dated, and Bon Jovi is a great 80's flashback, but today...really? Give it up for The Smithereens!

Saw them live at Pershing Square in L.A. this summer (peter Case of the Plimsouls opened) and they sound as good as ever. Great show. If they come through your town, go see them.

Rock n Roll hall of fame... I live here and I think its crap. A tourist trap and that's it. Its most notable for the people its missing and sime of the nonsensical inclusions than anything else.

i seen them in concert and they invited me and my sister 2 party with them i said no because my boyfriend was my ride and would of been pissed if we were not at the door when he came 2 get us-- we were in the news paper with the band review - the singer talked 2 us -- very cool band
