@livingeternity You missed the point. The purpose was perfectly recorded and performed 8 part jazz vocal music. Also they never performed anywhere live because they couldn't with only 4 voices, since all their charts were for at least 8 voices. In addition, there were no modern recording techniques or devices in the 70's that could make them any more in tune or perfect in their phrasing than they obviously are. I know. I'm a studio owner.

they are very good indeed. though their work doesnt nearly match up to puerlings original group the hi lo's whos blend, balance and tuning was way stronger without the use of modern recording techniques.

@yarmo28 Look at the man with the glasses in the photo shown. That's the great Elmer "Len" Dresslar, who is also known as the voice of the Jolly Green Giant (the "ho ho ho's, anyway"). He did the Giant's voice from his first "live action" appearances on TV in 1962 or 1963, and periodically re-cut them at various times over the years. Another person on YouTube posted a recording of Len singing lead on a song entitled "Chain Gang" (not the same one Sam Cooke did).

I never heard of the Singers unlimited until I saw a very early interview of Take 6. They asked the different members who they listened to /were influenced by. Cedric Dent (who sings baritone in Take 6) Sited that he was influenced by the HI-LO's and the SINGERS UNLIMITED. Now that I have finally heard them. I can just say.. they are Stunning! I can definitely *feel* their influence on Take 6 !!!
