I listen to the wiggles with my 3 and 1 year old. It's actually a little weird how much I listen, I listened to this song and "Bound for South Australia." When I am by myself or in the car. The seekers are one of my all time favorite bands no I listen to both versions alternating. Lol

Wrote in 1950 by Leo Maguire from Dublin as a theme for a radio show.RTE still own the rights to the song .Maybe thats 81% off all songs wrote by the Irish. You can prove me wrong if you wish.

It's not an Irish song like 80% of the songs that are claimed to be on the tube.

The highwaymen own this song as far as I'm concerned.

Written because the songwriter was asked, "Can you compose an Irish song that isn't sad?" So he did; though there's still a tinge of sadness in this song.

Sang this song on a microphone for the first time, when I was 12, with a red headed scottish boy whom I also liked for an end of year school concert. Never forgot it. I sparodically sing this when I am happy to my girls. Great song! Thanks for uploading it :)

I've always loved this song, regardless of who recorded it (even the Wiggles' version is passable!) but the Seekers' version always has been and always will be the best.

My cousin and I used to sing this song.....or at least I thought we did until I heard this. We weren't even close.

This gem shows the Seekers great talent of blending no matter who the lead singer was. Never any professional jealousy as was, and still is, in most pop groups. They sang for fun and in turn came songs that entertained all their fans.
