The Stones also did a super cover of the song Poison Ivy.

Keith is playing lead on this version. I've been a Stones fan for 45 years, so that qualifies me as stones historian.

An alternative to lipsyncing entirely was to record the backing tracks and sing it live. Check out some of The Rolling Stones TV performances of hits such as "Paint It Black," "Ruby Tuesday" and "Let's Spend The Night Together" (which had slightly changed lyrics of "Let's spend some time together..." ) on The Ed Sullivan Show. Mick Jagger sang but not everyone else really played.

Brian was one of those marvelous rhythm guitarists who drove the the engine of the early Stones R&B tunes. Just listen to his "chugga-chugga" on It's Not Easy.

In fact there are some videos on youtube, where only Mick's voice is live, but I think at that time the Stones sounded live like in studio, because they recorded 'live' in studio, All of them playing at the same time, first take, 2nd take, 3rd take will be published. No overdubbing, no effects, just live techniques.

This version differs from the studio version: Keith starts with guitar riff, then Charlie joins. In the studio version it's vice versa. Keith's guitar solo is different. In this version he doesn't do the two-finger runs (you know the style of Chuck Berry). I just watched a live version from 1964 of 'Not Fade Away' and i was also first wondering, if it was live or not. But listening several times I recognized som differences to the studio version.

This one version and N.K.Cole 's jazz version are the best ever....
