Upbeat? I dunno *scratching head* to me, it sounds more like they are angry. But, IMOHO every song The Real McKenzies performs, sounds like they are angry, roaring drunk, or looking to start a fight!

Love the way it's super upbeat, it's their thing and this band is one of my favorites...so hearing a song about my ancestors by them is like...well I could only imagine this is what sleeping with Anne Hathaway is like.

I have a feeling you are the person I recently talked to on facebook about this. If I used the "Wreck of the Ol 97" comparison you are definitely the same person :P It's nothing new, and even the McKenzies have done this before. "Sawney Bean Clan" (sp?) for instance.
