Um thanks for the kind reply, I think I made that comment in a fit of jealous and frustrated pride in the city and nation probably drunk (Ive quit drinking). Going abroad one can see just how backward we are but at least we are interesting and really do excel at certain things. Its just something Ive been obsessing about the past while.....

Reflecting on this, I have been to Belgium 3 times and found it delightful. More than that it is a somewhat aspirational place to live. Despite these attributes and having lived in Leith for several years some time ago the few things we have going for us is the music, it is part of our condition to run ourselves down, it is also part of us to excel at this type of thing. Everyone wants to live in Belgium, none of us want to hear their music.

This is the best Country songs I have ever herd in my life, and that little break that the pedal steel player does is one of the most beautiful peices of music that has come in to my ear in many years this is a beautiful song....love it such talent the proclaimers they are real....Love that melody and the pedeal steel.
