Triple j are not an independent station, they have playlists, songs on high rotation, make sure songs are edited to 3:30 and are told what is good bye the record labels. They may be commercial free but are far from non commercial. A dj or presenter doing a show cannot play any song they would like to, it is mediocre radio. Try RRR 102.7 or Pbs 106.7 in Melbourne. Fine examples of independent radio.

I also hate listening to interesting people speak on the radio, how dare triple j employ talented and interesting people and let them talk on the radio!...really talking has no place on the airwaves! especially when they talk about new music and current touring artists! deary me.

Totally agreed. Just the other day, there was an open invite to some turds 21st b'day who is on JJJ. Like I would give a shit and attend that. All of a sudden, they are the stars not the music. Stick to pressing play on the cd player. Essentially, thats what your there for. It started with the The Doctor, the man thinks he's a superstar.

As much as I love The Panics, the original Triffids was much more anthemic and reminds me of home (Perth).This version was a tad too stylistic but pretty fantastic anyway. JJJ has become more about the cult of personality than about music. (Not Robbie or Kingsmill, the other bloated turds.)
