@NoStreetBs It is a small amp, a Peavy Vyper, which has settings to duplicate the sounds of other popular amps...it is on the setting to sound like a Fender Twin and the Tube Screamer effect is turned on...cant remember exactly where I had the gain set, but it's pretty low...somewhere between 1 & 5...you want just enough to distort it slightly and but sound clear

What effect and/or amp settings are you using to get that tone that is so close to the original song. Sounds like light distortion with maybe a little flange?...almost like a fuzzy telephone effect.

@cpu64 No, it is only considered an E at the 7th fret!...same finger position as you move down, but the combination of notes changes, i.e. different chords....Chords are made of three tones of a scale, the 1st, 3rd and 5th tones, played together...

Ok, let me say it differently. at the start, you move from 7 to 4 to 2 holding the same E position. Would all 3 positions be considered Es or is playing on 7 the E, then on 4 a C# and on 2 a B. Hope that makes sense.. :)

@cpu64 @ the chords and an E being an E only at certain fret, I dont understand that question, what 'change' do you mean? I am playing an E at the 7th fret of the A string...you could play the E in a diff positoin, but you would get the same tone quality or sound as the original...they play the E in the position that I have played here. and yes, I am only striking the first three notes of the chord,.

I know this is a stupid question but I'l a noob in training and I wanted to ask, when you're doing the 3 chords, do you only play the 3 strings in the chord? Also i looked up on a tab site and they list them as E C#m and B.. So an E is only an E if its at a specific fret? I don't understand the change.
