My theory on why there is so many much unhappiness nowadays: now while we are much better at finding depression and figuring out where it comes from, I still think for the past 2 or 3 generations it stems from something that we all have in common. We all have barely have anything to do. What I mean by that is that for hundreds of years humans worked. They did hard physical labor. They had no time to sit around complaining about boredom and how horrible such and such event hundreds of years ago was. It was wake up, work, rest a little, work, eat, sleep. While it may sound awfully boring to a lot of you now, it gave them purpose. They had themselves and a family to feed, a shop to run, a farm to plow, etc. Everyday they woke to something, even if it was just the same crap everyday, it could be satisfying and fulfilling to many.Now tell me, what do WE do? yes, many of us have jobs, but if we didn't we have many gov. programs to help us, homeless shelters, easy available food that can quickly be cooked for us for chump change. Almost everything is easy. We are bored and we feel empty. We have SO much free time on our hands. We can sit around freaking out about American slavery, back when the English tried to conquer everything, how communism started, how terrible certain groups were treated thousands of years ago. Hell, I sat here and typed this, now that's free time haha. We aren't busy. We aren't working hard for much of anything. Now don't get me wrong, depression?unhappiness in many people comes from something in their past. But then you have  the people whom I've met, who don't  have a root problem. They have a nice husband/wife/Bf/Gf, nice, loving friends and family, nice house, nice job, got to go to a great university, but yet they suffer. I could be totally wrong. But this is my big guess as to why so many of us are SO unhappy with everything. Emptiness. We need and want something to work, or even, fight for.
