I love Sierra but I prefer Betsy's acting in this scene, she comes off as so sweet and shy and innocent, and throughout the whole song I'm laughing over how adorable she is.

I know it's moot now but this number could be so much more. The song is beautiful and it lends it's feel to such grand dancing but it's not evident here. It never becomes not awkward.

Poor Betsy continues to be ripped apart. How ironic that Sierra fans can not stand it when Jodi Benson fans say the same thing. "She is good but Jodi will always be my Ariel." Constantly flipping out because they can't bare to see her critisized. But no shame on their part if they do the same to another performer. If you absolutley can not handle the idea of someone else portraying a character Sierra has played. Don't watch! Of course that actor will be different. Who actually wants to see a carbon copy? Betsy was wonderful in her own right.

in the original fairytale she could dance en pointe barefoot. this is actually more believable. haha.

I love Sierra but I think Betsy play this moment (and Positoovity) mo realistically. Sierra made it seem a little too poised. Betsy gave her an awkword clumbsiness suited for Ariel. I love it when Eric guides her and she's trying to keep up with how effortless it is. She's picking it up very well but doesn't make it seem like she's been a trained dancer. Which she is in real life. So it reallyshowcases what a talented actress it is. She captures Ariel's adorable but shy learning ability. :)
