The Jam

The Jam Eh!! Saw them so many times but it seems such a long time ago now. I watch these things on youtube and remember how it was then. Paul Weller was a fantastic songwriter and performer, Bruce Foxton was cool but not in a sad way and Rick Buckler still is one of the best drummers for speed and passion I have ever seen or heard. I often read about The Jimmy Hendrix Experience when people talk about the power of a three piece band but if you were ever in a hall when the Jam were playing, WOW !

Priviledged to have seen the 3 times. Weller was, is and will always be God. He is an amazing and enduring talent. This is one of my favourite songs of all time, so much so I have a tattoo in it's honour!

@modmutha It was a pleasure to be a young teenager growing up with the jam as the soundtrack to those years. His lyrics were years ahead of his time.........they still are now....... LEGEND ps and his late Dad John was a diamond he used to let all the kids in to soundchecks........ fuck i sound like some stalker. Oh the memories!!!! All the best fi jockland mate.

Butterfly Collector was actually written about Janet Street Porter and not Sue Catwoman. Rick told me this after his 7th bottle of Blue Nun after a Time UK gig.
