Got to agree with riffmerchant333 on this one, THA had something great going with Nocturne, ever since their new album they've been seriously off the ball, very talented and very technical but not as enjoyable to listen to i have to admit.

how dare you? nothing interesting? did you not hear the song? the style and technicallity of their music is entrancing. maybe the untrained ear doesn't hear the sheer talent and love for stepping outside the box that is mainstream, that every member of that band has for the music they play. THA takes it back to theory, every time, without fail. love the music that you dis, because all i see is a hater standing in the shadow.

As a musician, I must disagree. AJ didn't invent some magical new style of playing. He's only amazing cause he sweeps, and is doing the same shit Rush and Dream Theater did before him. I'm not saying he's bad, but fuck, it doesn't take long to learn how to sweep, and playing and reversing the same arpeggios is not difficult.

Nocturne had strong songs, but as an album; it really wasn't that technical or amazing. It was the same chromatic runs and the same sweeping played over and over. If anything, AJ leaving was for the better. They are playing what they want to play, and for me that's good enough. Yeah, he doesn't scream as much, but he's such a good singer. If you don't agree, well then, that's just like your opinion man.

That would be true but Tapley wasn't indited until after Nocturne was released and THA were already writing Midheaven. Most of the score was done by either Dean(guitarist), Sean(pianist) and/or Nathan(vocalist).

What an awful voice Nathan has. He sounds like he is trying to be "soul-ful." He is like the Kenny G of metal. And the guitar playing has no backbone. It just sounds so bad.
