It was any wonder the final afternoon of MusicfestNW turned into a giant play-date in Washington Park -- where ever the Head and the Heart picked up to play, a trail of interested picnickers, flute playing security guards and gargling babies came along for the song. The Seattle-based, harmonizing troupe has enjoyed a sharp and well deserved spike of success since releasing their self-titled debut record in June and are about to embark on an American tour with Dr. Dog.
Here you see two-thirds of the band -- Josiah Johnson on guitar, Charity Rose Theilen and Jonathan Russell sing while Kenny "Hot Rod" Hensley swings. It was so fitting that in with love blooming from every age in the park that day, Honey Come Home really hit home. The chores and task and all the mundane things we must do in order to die with the one we love beside us -- clean out the fridge, wipe the counters off, and put away clothes and remembering those very walks where it all came to be.
